The Vision for Chesil [V4C]Privacy Policy
The Steering Group developing the Neighbourhood Plan [NP] is committed to
protecting the privacy of the individuals who contribute to it, and the information
they provide.
This is being undertaken by the Parish Council, which is fully registered under the
Data Protection Act [GDPR]This Privacy Policy is designed to help you understand what information we gather,
how we use it, what we do to protect it, and how it can assist us in making informed
decisions on the development of the plan, which will be in line with national
standards 1
.
This Privacy Policy applies to the information we gather to develop the plan, the
content of the Vision4chesil website, and any reference data we may collect or hold
during the duration of the Neighbourhood Planning project, which is scheduled to
complete in April 2021. More detail on the project and progress with achieving its
aims are available on the Vision4Chesil website.
Our intention and purpose are to collect, use and analyse personal and nonpersonal information to create the plan, and to publish anonymised and aggregated
data, primarily gained from carrying out surveys, and to utilise information available
from public sources wherever possible, to develop the plan.
Consent
By providing information to us and taking part in surveys, workshops or discussions
about developing the plan you consent to our collection, storage, use and
disclosure of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. By
providing information to us you represent that you are at least 18 years of age.

We may collect both “Non-Personal Information” and “Personal Information” about
you from surveys, participation in workshops etc used in the project to create the
NP.
“Non-Personal Information” includes information that cannot be used to personally
identify you, such as anonymised data, and general demographic information we
may collect from publicly available sources.
“Personal Information” includes information that can be used to personally identify
you, such as your name, address and email address.
How We Use And Share Information
Personal Information: We do not sell, trade, rent or otherwise share your personal
information with third parties. We use this information to help us create and
improve the evidence-base for developing the Neighbourhood Plan. We will use
the Electoral Roll as the base-line of information on residents and to create the
Referendum information needed to finalise the plan.
Non-Personal Information: In general, we use this information to help us improve
the evidence-base for developing the Neighbourhood Plan and to track trends and
analyse data patterns emerging from our surveys etc.
How We Protect Information
We implement reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices in order to
protect your personal information and ensure that such personal information is not
accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed in an unauthorised way.
However, these measures do not absolutely guarantee that your information will not
be accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed by breach of such precautions. By
providing information to us for the purpose of developing the Neighbourhood Plan,
you acknowledge that you understand and agree to assume these risks.
Your Rights Regarding The Use Of Your Personal Information
You have the right at any time to prevent us from contacting you and you can opt
out of any further use of your personal information; you can do this in two ways,
firstly in writing to us at the Parish Council or by following the unsubscribe
instructions provided in any e-mail’s we may send you.
